Mentorship is the single greatest factor in the success of our students. Because of this, we have selected our training faculty carefully to ensure that our students have the best possible research experience that will propel them into successful careers as physician scientists and physician engineers.
The MSTP training faculty are chosen from a total of 277 graduate faculty within IU School of Medicine and in the Weldon School of Biomedical Engineering at Purdue. Research mentors are members of basic science and clinical departments that interact across departments and institutions. Our training faculty represent areas of research that are not only strengths at our institutions, but are also of great interest to our students. Criteria for training faculty include: 1) a track record in training pre-doctoral PhD or MD-PhD students; 2) evidence of high quality research as judged by peer-reviewed publications; and 3) extramural peer reviewed funding.
We invite you to view the links to the left to explore the research interests of our training faculty. We are adding new training faculty every year, so we expect that the research opportunities will continue to grow.
